Biography of Michael G. Jackson
Michael G. Jackson- is a graduate of the University of Memphis in Memphis, Tennessee where he earned his Bachelor degree in Criminal Justice/Criminology and Master’s Degree in Public Administration. Detective Jackson is a commissioned police officer with the State of Tennessee and currently works for the Memphis Police Department, in Memphis, Tennessee. Michael Jackson was promoted to Sergeant June of 2016. Sergeant Jackson has been employed with the Memphis Police Department for twenty (20) years. Sergeant Jackson is currently assigned to the Organized Crime Unit Undercover Operations and the Major Violator’s/Criminal Enterprise Team. In these roles Sergeant Jackson handle the day to day operations of Deep Undercover Employees (UCE) who work long term ongoing investigations, as well as, take care of the day to day activities of the Undercover Unit including the interview and training of new Undercover Officers. On both units Sergeant Jackson conduct Wiretap investigations and has been instrumental in disrupting multi-kilogram level narcotic trafficking organizations dealing in heroin and cocaine through long term investigations both on the State and Federal level. Sergeant Jackson has been responsible for the training of several Undercover Officers who have done tremendous work. Before his tour with the Organized Crime Unit Sergeant Jackson was assigned to the Auto Cargo Task Force, which was a joint task force comprised of Memphis Police, FBI Agents and Shelby County Sheriff. In that position with the Auto Cargo Task Force, Sergeant Jackson concentrated on medium to large-scale Auto and Cargo Thefts, Organized Pharmaceuticals groups, federal cargo violations, and street crime investigations. Sergeant Jackson has worked high level cases with the DEA which has resulted in large scale arrest and one of Sergeant Jackson’s cases adopted by the DEA won HIDTA National Case of the year. Sergeant Jackson- Sergeant Jackson is an instructor for the Organized Crime Unit Basic Narcotics School, he has attended the two week Undercover certification school in Meridian, Mississippi, Undercover Techniques and Survival school in Daytona Beach, Fl, Undercover School in Orlando, Florida, Basic Narcotics Investigation school in Memphis, Tennessee, Instructor Course in Memphis, Tennessee, A one week Tennessee Bureau of Investigation Communications Intercept School in Nashville, Tennessee at the TBI, DEA Title III Seminar in Memphis, Tennessee, and One week NADDI (National Association of Drug Diversion Investigators) in St. Louis, Missouri.
